Frank Poems: SONNET 43b

(with apologies)

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
(a) utterly, (b) entirely, (c) truly
(d) freely, (e) faithfully, (f) fully
(g) with all my heart, (h) in happiness
(i) and sorrow, (j) beyond words of praise
(k) gaily, (l) gleefully, (m) gladly
(n) meekly, (o) immensely, (p) madly
(q) to bits, (r) under blue skies or grey
(s) sincerely, (t) solely, (u) wholly
(v) in theory, but also factually
(w) like I’ve won Monopoly
(x) virtually, as well as actually
(y) as if you were my one and only
(z) subject to contract, naturally.
